Veterans Day Posters

Veterans Day posters from 1978 to 2021 provided by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Each year the VA and the Veterans Day National Committee distribute Veterans Day posters to increase awareness of Veterans Day and the sacrifices Veterans have made to secure and defend our nation. More than 20,000 Veterans posters are distributed to military installations, federal agencies, veterans nursing homes, state veterans offices, VA facilities and many other locations. The poster also appears on the official program for the Veterans Day Celebration at Arlington National Cemetery and establishes the theme for the ceremony.

The 2021 National Veterans Day Poster Contest selects artwork submitted by artists nationwide. The theme for Veterans Day 2021 is: “Honoring All Who Served.” All Veterans make a sacrifice to serve their country, whether physically, emotionally, or by being away from their loved ones and missing important life moments. As the saying goes, hindsight is always 20/20. Looking back on centuries of Veterans’ service and sacrifice and what we have learned from the past, we must always maintain the vision for the future of Veterans. Putting the Veteran at the center, on Veterans Day we continue to honor all who served, while focusing on the needs of the next generation of Veterans.

The Veterans Day National Committee seeks new design submissions annually and selects the poster that best commemorates Veterans Day and honors America’s heroes. Originally submissions were mainly from local Veteran Affairs employees but the committee now encourages entries from a much broader audience including academia, Veterans, family members, school children and industry. Typically the committee receives more than 120 submissions each year.
