    Maintaining physical fitness can help military and veteran families deal with unique stressors that come with the military lifestyle. Staying fit and healthy isn’t easy, and it’s not always cheap. But, special military discounts and programs can help you save money while focusing on your health and well-being.

    Here are some of the best fitness, health and nutrition military discount programs.

    Military Discounts on Gym Memberships

    Military gyms are free, but you may want to shop around for a commercial gym membership if you don’t live near a base or need more fitness options. Several major fitness chains offer substantial military discounts on gym memberships.

    YMCA

    Active duty service members and their families may be eligible for free YMCA memberships through the Department of Defense’s Armed Services YMCA Military Outreach Initiative.

    You’re eligible for a free membership if:

    • You’re on active duty at a location where there is not a military fitness facility
    • You’re a dependent of a military member who is on an unaccompanied tour or who is deployed
    • You’re assigned to a community-based warrior transition unit where there is no nearby military fitness facility

    Your local YMCA may offer additional military and veteran discounts, call or check with the front desk to see what’s available.

    Gold’s Gym

    Gold’s Gym offers a military discount of $5 off monthly fees at multi-gym memberships, which are good at corporate-owned locations, said Ashley Lennington, a spokesperson for the company, in an email. Lennington said that military discounts at franchise locations vary.

    YouFit

    YouFit offers affordable personal training, nutritional counseling and on-demand workout classes in 10 southern and eastern states. Prices vary by location, but military members and first responders get a 20% discount off membership fees with no contract necessary.

    Crunch Fitness

    Crunch Fitness has over 400 U.S. gym locations in the United States. Military members living or working near a Crunch Fitness gym can get a seven-day free trial membership. Just verify your military status through ID.me.

    CrossFit

    CrossFit offers free daily workouts for anyone to complete at one of their independently-owned gyms or at home with minimal equipment. Military discounts on Crossfit memberships vary by ownership and location. However, active-duty Army soldiers can take CrossFit certification courses through ArmyIgnitED, according to Crossfit’s official Instagram account.

    Veterans and other service members can ask about tuition reimbursement for the same courses by emailing [email protected].

    Orangetheory

    Orangetheory Fitness offers hour-long classes featuring a full-body high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout. The chain doesn’t provide a universal military discount, but some locations offer special deals and discounts to military members.

    24 Hour Fitness

    24 Hour Fitness offers coaching, cardio and weight workouts, classes and a proprietary fitness app, 24GO. Some gyms include basketball courts, lap pools, racquetball, saunas and more.

    USAA

    While the United States Automobile Association (USAA) doesn’t have a gym, it does offer a nearly-universal gym membership program that travels with you.

    USAA members can opt-in for Active&Fit Direct. For just $25 per month, Active&Fit Direct club members can access any 11,600 gym locations and 7,600 workout videos without long-term contracts.

    Anytime Fitness

    Anytime fitness offers student, senior and military discounts, according to its website. The fitness chain also offers insurance discounts. However, discounts vary by location. Call your local club to find out what’s available.

    Military Discounts on Massage and Chiropractic Care

    Maintaining your physical fitness doesn’t always mean working out. Recovery is essential too. Save money on your recovery regimen with these military discounts.

    The Joint Corp.

    The Joint Corp. offers a special military discount on its chiropractic care packages. Active and retired military personnel, as well as their immediate family members can schedule an initial chiropractic exam and adjustment at any of The Joint’s 600-plus locations for just $19. The Joint’s Military Appreciation Program also knocks $10 off its monthly packages. Plans that include four visits per month are $59 for veterans and service members.

    Massage Envy

    Massage Envy offers military discounts on their memberships, but the discount varies by location. Contact your local franchise for details on the store’s discount.

    Military Discounts on Supplements and Nutrition

    Wellness is a holistic concept – what you put into your body often determines what you can get out of it. Some top supplement and nutrition companies offer significant military discounts.

    GNC

    GNC offers a 15% military discount when you shop online. To use yours, create a GNC account, navigate to your profile and click “Verify with ID.me.”

    Bodybuilding.com

    Bodybuilding.com sells supplements, fitness plans and apparel. The retailer offers a 10% military discount coupon code you can use on all its products. Verify your military status with ID.me  to access it.

    Nutrishop

    Nutrishop sells USA-made nutritional products and supplements. Visit the ID.me online Nutrishop storefront to verify your military status and get 2% cash back on all your purchases.

    Old School Labs

    Old School Labs’ sells time-proven supplements manufactured with clean ingredients.

    Old School Labs offers a 15% discount to current military members who buy from their website or Amazon.com storefront. However, the discount comes as a refund, which you get by filling out this form.

    Pure Formulas

    Pure Formulas sells a range of vitamins, probiotics, nutritional supplements and more.

    Pure Formulas offers a 10% military discount when you verify with the ID.me link on its military discount page. After verification, you should automatically see the 10% discount in your checkout cart after you add items.

    Military Discounts on Home Fitness

    Beachbody

    Beachbody doesn’t offer a military discount on its streaming workouts or products.

    But, if you want to sign up as a beach body coach, you can get a military waiver for all Beachbody coach service fees, plus starter kit reimbursement. Find out more here.

    X Training Equipment

    X Training sells everything you need to build your home garage gym, including free weights, rowing machines and even flooring. It also offers discount equipment bundles.

    X Training offers a 7% military discount on all its products. Verify through GovX here to get this discount.

    REP Fitness

    REP Fitness provides professional-quality home gym equipment, including racks, benches, barbells, free weights and bodyweight equipment.

    You can create a REP Fitness account to earn rewards for purchases and product reviews. You’ll also receive 100 points on your birthday.

    REP Fitness offers a 5% military discount on regularly-priced items.

    Visit the VerifyPass REP Fitness page to verify your current or former military service. Be sure to block out your social security number if you have to upload a DD-214 or other sensitive information to prove your service status.

    ONNIT

    Onnit offers a 15% military discount to military members and veterans who verify their status through ID.me, according to its website. The discount applies to fitness equipment, nutritional supplement and apparel orders of at least $125. Military members, veterans, first responders and teachers are also eligible for 50% off fitness programs and a free Onnit 6 bodyweight training program.

    Veterans and military service members can also get free shipping on orders over $150.

    Mirror

    Military members and veterans who verify with ID.me can purchase Mirror’s sleek, in-home smart gym for $995 plus 1.5% cashback. ID.me offers other sales and cashback offers on Mirror packages and workout subscription programs.

    Peloton

    Peloton offers active and retired military members $200 off Peloton accessories when you buy any Peloton Bike, Bike+ or Tread products, according to its website. To get the discount, chat with Peloton support before you place an order. A customer service representative will guide you through Peloton’s military verification process.

    Peloton also offers a 20% military discount on its monthly Peloton App membership fees. Verify your military status to access Pelton’s $9.99 military rate. App access normally costs $12.99 per month.

    Peloton military discounts are available to active-duty, National Guard and reserve service members, veterans and their family members.

    Bowflex

    Bowflex offers a variable military discount on home gyms, weights, treadmills, exercise bikes and more, according to its website.  Contact customer service at 1-800-618-8853 to verify your military status and access the discount.

    Echelon

    Ecehlon offers a 15% military and veteran discount on Echelon Connect Bike, Reflect and Rower purchases. Teachers, medical personnel and first responders are also eligible for the discount. Verify your status with VerifyPass to receive your Echelon discount promo code.
    Active duty, veterans and dependents plus police, fire and EMTs get a 15% discount on any Echelon Connect Bike, Reflect, or Rower.

    Ergatta

    According to its website, Ergatta offers a discount for active and retired military and front-line medical professionals. Email [email protected] to learn more.

    FitnessFactory.com

    Active -duty military, veterans and first responders recieve 10% off all Fitness Factory orders, according to FitnessFactory.com. Verify your status with VerifyPass to receive this discount.

    Kettlebells USA

    Kettlebells USA offers a 5% discount to active-duty military members, veterans and first responders, according to its website.  You can apply for the discount online by uploading proof of your military service.

    Tonal

    Tonal offers a $200 off home gym purchases to active-duty military members, veterans and their dependents. Medical personnel, teachers and first responders are also eligible for this one-time discount code.

    Military Discounts on Fitness Apparel and Electronics

    From smartwatches to kettlebells, a host of personal and at-home fitness products can complement your workout regimen. Many brands offer instant online military status verification, making discount approval easier than ever.

    Apple

    You can get a 10% discount on purchases from Apple’s veteran and military store when you verify your eligibility through ID.me. The special discount portal includes Apple Watch products, which offer heart-rate monitoring, exercise tracking, blood oxygen monitoring and other fitness applications.

    Active duty, National Guard, reserve service members, and immediate family members are eligible for the discount.

    Dick’s Sporting Goods

    Dick’s Sporting Goods store offers a range of sports, fitness and outdoor equipment and apparel.

    When you shop through its ID.me interface, you can get 1% cash back on your purchase, which you can use on top of other discount deals. Orders of over 15 items, Yeezys and gift cards are ineligible for this cashback offer.

    Fitbit

    Fitbit doesn’t offer a military discount on its popular fitness trackers, according to its website.

    However, you can find military discounts on Fitbit products at military exchange stores, including the Army and Air Force Exchange Services (AAFES) website. Check your closest base exchange for local markdowns.

    Asics

    Asics offers 40% off to active-duty, National Guard and reserve service members, veterans and military family members. You’ll need to get a new code through ID.me verification each time you place an order.

    Visit Asics military discount page to verify your military status with SheerID. Once verified, you’ll receive a 40% promo code.

    Adidas

    Adidas offers a 30% military discount on all online purchases, plus a 20% military discount at Adidas factory stores.

    Verify your status through ID.me to get an Adidas military discount promo code for online purchases. You can use the same process to get a military discount QR code to scan when you shop in-store.

    Nike

    Nike offers a 10% military discount on in-store and online purchases. Veterans, active-duty, National Guard and reserve service members, military spouses and dependents are eligible for the discount.

    To get yours, visit Nike’s military discount page to verify your military service with SheerID. Once verified, you’ll get a military discount promo code to use when you shop online.

    Show your military ID at the register to use your discount when you shop in Nike stores.

    Converse

    Converse shoes are popular for basketball, weightlifting and casual fashion. Some divers even use them as rock boots under their fins. Whatever you use them for, Converse offers a 10% military discount both online and in stores on all its products. The discount also applies to spouses and dependents of active duty military.

    To use the discount online, verify your status on Converse’s SheerID page. To use it in the store, show your military ID at the register.

    Reebok

    Reebok offers a whopping 50% military discount on all its products to military members and veterans who verify through ID.me. Once you verify, you’ll receive a promo code for online purchases.

    Reebok’s military discounts are only available online, according to its website.

    Under Armour

    Under Armour offers a 20% military discount on all its products when you shop online or at Under Armour’s “brand house” stores. You can get a 10% military discount when you shop at Under Armour factory outlet stores. Verify your military status through ID.me to take advantage of this offer.

    Note: On-base Under Armour stores, such as the Under Armour Factory House at Fort Bliss, may allow military discount stacking during clearance sale events. Call ahead to confirm if you’re traveling to shop at a base store. 

    Military Discounts on Fitness Events and Courses

    If you want to take your fitness journey to the next level, consider competing in a race or pursuing a fitness certification. Here are a few discount options for military members and veterans.

    National Academy of Sports Medicine Courses

    The National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) offers a 30% military discount on its internationally-recognized personal training certification courses.

    Veterans who enter NASM’s certified personal trainer program can receive military reimbursement through credentialing assistance programs. Student veterans can also use their GI Bill benefits to attend classes. Email [email protected] or call 844-956-2751 for more information.

    Tough Mudder

    Tough Mudder hosts obstacle courses and endurance races for individuals and groups.

    Tough Mudder offers up to 25% off of its races and events through its GovX verification link.
