Lowe’s is a nationwide home improvement retailer with 1,700 locations in the United States.
Qualified veterans and their immediate family members can save 10% on most purchases as part of the chain’s military discount program.

The discount and other benefits also apply to active-duty service members, reservists, and their family members in the United States Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, National Guard, and Coast Guard. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and Public Health Service Commissioned Corps (USPHS) members also qualify for the discount.

To receive the discount, veterans must enroll in the MyLowe’s Program. Lowe’s uses a trusted third-party service to verify eligibility status, which may require you to submit additional documentation, such as proof of military service.

    MyLowe’s Program Benefits

Veterans will enjoy the following benefits when they sign up for the MyLowe’s Program.

    • 10% Off Every Day* Online and in Store: Lowe’s offers a 10% Everyday Military Discount on most full-price items to extend our gratitude to those who have served or are currently serving our country in the US armed forces.
    • Silver Key Status: Get Silver Key status instantly when you enroll in our Military Discount program and register through ID.me. MyLowe’s Rewards Silver Key status members receive FREE standard shipping and earn more points per dollar.
    • Easy Registration Through ID.me: Lowe’s partners with ID.me to verify discount eligibility in real time, so you can sign up quickly and start saving.
    • Eligibility for Spouses: Military spouses are pillars of stability, joy and strength. Your Everyday Military Discount extends to your spouse in appreciation for everything they do.

Lowe’s has a new military benefit for 2024. The retailer recently announced that verified military members, veterans, and spouses also receive free Silver Key status in the Rewards program.

Your discount should apply as long as your Verify with ID.me and Lowe’s accounts are valid, unless Lowe’s changes or rescinds the discount, which it can do at any time. That does not apply to specific accounts, meaning you can enjoy discount benefits if you don’t abuse the privilege and abide by the program’s terms and conditions.

How to Sign Up for the MyLowe’s Program

To receive a military discount as a veteran, you must enroll in the MyLowe’s Program. To start the process, go to Lowe’s military validation page. Select “Verify with ID.me,” a third-party eligibility verification service contracted to the Department of Defense.

After you’re verified, create a personal account on Lowes.com or log in to your existing personal account and follow the on-screen instructions.

You can link your MyLowe’s account with your phone number or carry a membership card to receive your discount in-store. In either case, cashiers may ask to see photo ID, such as a valid driver’s license, state- or federal-issued identification card, DOD identification card, discharge papers, or passport.

If you have more than one MyLowe’s account, only one of them can be military-verified. If you have a previously military-verified account that is still active, the system won’t let you verify for a new one.

Can Veterans Use Lowe’s Military Discount Online?

Yes! Lowe’s military discount is available in-store and online. To use the discount online, log in to your MyLowe’s account. Lowe’s will automatically apply your discount to eligible items during checkout.

If you prefer, you can check your local store’s inventory and complete your order online to avoid wasting a trip for items that aren’t in stock. After you order online, you’ll pick up your purchases at your Lowe’s location.

    Lowe’s Military Discount Exclusions

The 10% discount and other benefits apply to retired or discharged veterans unless they have been dishonorably discharged. Lowe’s reserves the right to change or cancel the program at any time or cancel a veteran’s enrollment if there is evidence of misuse.

The veteran’s discount has no annual limit but it is subject to certain program exclusions. It can only be applied to eligible purchases, which include most full-price products. However, it can’t be used with any other offer, coupon, promotion, discount, or markdown, including:

    • Lowe’s Price Promise
    • Price programs such as Lowe’s 5% Off Every Day Discount, volume or special pricing programs
    • Lowe’s credit discount offers, such as Lowe’s Consumer Credit Card 5% Off Every Day discount.
    • Gift cards
    • Previous purchases
    • Major appliances, accessories and parts, and commodities such as, but not limited to, electrical cable, electrical wire, dimensional lumber, plywood, and other related items
    • Services, including product installations sold separately or as part of a packaged bundle comprising both products and services and assembly
    • Other services such as rentals, labor, delivery, shipping, and extended protection plans
    • Taxes or fees

The military discount isn’t redeemable for cash or transferable and can’t be combined with price adjustments made at a manager’s discretion.

Lowe’s military discount is for a veteran’s personal use only and does not apply to commercial services. It also won’t apply to market-priced commodities like lumber, cables, electrical wire, plywood, or oriented strand board.

Discounts also won’t be applied if you don’t verify your Lowe’s online account, have an incorrect phone number, or have a MyLowe’s PRO account.

Additional exclusions may apply. If you have questions, ask store personnel for clarifications on what it covers.

    Other Ways Lowe’s Helps Veterans

Lowe’s supports the military community through its ongoing policy of hiring veterans, providing them with scholarships, and offering preferred veteran parking at store locations.

In 2024, Lowe’s was named the 2024 Military Friendly Top 10 Brand, achieving the prestigious #1 ranking for the first time. It was also named a 2024 Military Friendly Employer for the 18th consecutive year and created long-term opportunities for military community members.

Also, for the first time in 2024, Lowe’s was named a Top 10 Military Spouse Employer for its efforts to improve and invest in the lives of military spouses.

This recognition comes alongside the 2024 Military Friendly Employer designation, an award the company has earned for 18 consecutive years.

Lowe’s also supports veterans by creating safe and affordable veterans’ housing through partnerships with national nonprofits like Building Homes for Heroes, Operation Finally Home, and Purple Heart Homes. Through August 4, 2024, Lowe’s customers can support Building Homes for Heroes by rounding up their transactions to the nearest whole dollar at store checkout.

The retailer also provides workforce training for transitioning military service members through the Lowe’s SkillBridge program, which has partnered with the U.S. Department of Defense.

The company’s Hometowns program is a five-year, $100 million impact program that revitalizes community spaces, including food pantries, first responder facilities, affordable housing services, and community gardens. It provides grants to renovate and revitalize community spaces that include the military community.

Lowe’s also employs 26,000+ active-duty, veteran, and military spouse associates. The Lowe’s Military Spouse Transfer Policy offers a flexible and easy path for spouses relocating for military-related reasons to make lateral moves within Lowe’s and keep growing their careers.

    First Responder Discount

Some veterans become first responders after their service, and the good news is that you can also enjoy a Lowe’s First Responder Discount if you qualify. The terms and conditions are different from those of the Military Discount program, with discounts generally only offered in part of October, but first responders verify their identities in the same way as military members.
