The base houses Training Air Wing Two and multiple tenant commands, with a workforce comprising around 300 officers, 200 enlisted members, 350 civilians, and 625 contract maintenance workers. Naval Air Station Kingsville History

Founded in 1942 as the Naval Auxiliary Air Station (NAAS) Kingsville, the base initially functioned as an auxiliary to the Naval Air Station Corpus Christi. It played a pivotal role in World War II pilot training. In 1968, its designation shifted to NAS Kingsville. While it formerly supported both bomber and fighter training, it became an exclusive jet training facility in 1960, pioneering the use of the Boeing T-45 Goshawk for Navy training.
