March Air Reserve Base
Updated: August 25, 2023Located between Riverside, Moreno Valley, and Perris in Riverside County, California, March Air Reserve Base (formerly March Air Force Base) is the headquarters for the Air Force Reserve Command’s Fourth Air Force and the host 452d Air Mobility Wing. The base also supports multiple units from the Air Force Reserve Command, Army Reserve, Navy Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, California Air National Guard, and California Army National Guard.

March Air Reserve Base History
Established in February 1918 as the Alessandro Flying Training Field, March was one of the Air Service training camps during World War I. Reopened in 1927 as March Field, it became pivotal for heavy aircraft training. Many renowned bombardment groups sharpened their skills here before World War II Pacific deployments. 1996, it transitioned to the Air Force Reserve Command as March Air Reserve Base.

March Air Reserve Base Surrounding Area
March Air Reserve Base is nearby towns like Riverside and Moreno Valley.
