F.E. Warren Air Force Base History

F.E. Warren AFB was established in 1867 as Fort David Allen Russell by the United States Army. In 1947, it came under the control of the United States Army Air Forces and then the United States Air Force.

It is the oldest continuously active military installation within the Air Force. The base has undergone various transformations and changes in function over the years, and it is currently operated by the Air Force Global Strike Command.

PCS and TDY Lodging
