Fort Novosel is a U.S. Army installation in southern Alabama, near the town of Daleville, Alabama. It is formerly known as Fort Rucker. The installation is primarily used as for flight training for U.S. Army Pilots and the U.S. Air Force. It also is the home of the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE).

At the military base, temporary lodging options are available for both Temporary Duty (TDY) and Permanent Change of Station (PCS) personnel. The IHG Army Hotels offer Temporary Lodging options on-post. Reservations can be made by calling 334-598-5216.

Fort Novosel Surrounding Area
Fort Novosel is in southern Alabama. It’s about a two-hour drive south to Panama City beach on the coast. It’s about a four-hour drive to Atlanta, Georgia. The installation lies in Dale County, Alabama, which features rural regions, offering a variety of outdoor recreational activities.
On-post medical services are available at Fort Novosel, specifically at the Lyster Army Health Clinic. The clinic offers care options, but some are limited.
Note: Emergency care is not provided at the clinic. To find emergency services, go to off-post facilities in the nearby communities.
Fort Novosel offers child care options through its Child Development Center (CDC). The center offers full-day care options for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. It also provides a school-year care program for students.
There are DDESS Schools on-post at Fort Novosel. Those living off-post are able to go to six surrounding districts.
