Fort Novosel is in southern Alabama. It’s about a two-hour drive south to Panama City beach on the coast. It’s about a four-hour drive to Atlanta, Georgia. The installation lies in Dale County, Alabama, which features rural regions, offering a variety of outdoor recreational activities.

On-post medical services are available at Fort Novosel, specifically at the Lyster Army Health Clinic. The clinic offers care options, but some are limited.

Fort Novosel offers child care options through its Child Development Center (CDC). The center offers full-day care options for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. It also provides a school-year care program for students.
