Dugway Proving Ground Housing
Key and essential military personnel must live on post at Dugway Proving Ground, typically in the mountain view units. As a result, these individuals forfeit their basic housing allowance. However, exceptions might be available for geographical bachelors living in bachelor quarters with permission from the DPG commander. While civilian employees can choose between on-post and off-post housing, the nearest town, Tooele, is a 45 to 60-minute drive away. Other housing options are in Salt Lake City and cities along the Wasatch Front, with commute times ranging from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours. Additionally, Dugway is part of the Utah Transit Authority vanpool program.
