President Biden signed the Fiscal Year 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), paving the way for a 4.6% increase in military pay for 2023. New pay rates are effective Jan. 1, 2023, and will first appear on Jan. 14, 2023, paychecks.
The military pay charts below are for all U.S. Armed Forces personnel, including the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, Space Force and Reserves forces where applicable.

Additional Notes on Military Pay for 2023
Military basic pay is the compensation a service member can expect without allowances, benefits, reenlistment bonuses, proficiency pay or other special pay.
Military pay derives from the Employment Cost Index (ECI) formula and the draft 2023 defense budget. The pay charts above do not include allowances like BAH (basic allowance for housing), BAS (basic allowance for subsistence) or other incentives.
