    Luke Air Force Base History

    Established in 1941 as Litchfield Park Air Base and later renamed in honor of WWI ace Second Lieutenant Frank Luke Jr., the base has transitioned from a WWII fighter training ground to a modern facility operated by the 56th Fighter Wing. Despite its recognition as a superfund site due to contamination issues, Luke AFB remains a cornerstone for fighter pilot training and maintenance.

    How to Apply For Housing

    To apply for housing at Luke Air Force Base, you’ll first need to contact the housing office at 623-856-7643. You’ll need to provide necessary information such as your rank, number of dependents and the date you’ll be reporting to the base.

    PCS and TDY Lodging

    At the military base, temporary lodging is available at the Fighter Country Inn. This facility is open 24/7 and can be contacted at 623-935-2641. Both Temporary Duty (TDY) and Permanent Change of Station (PCS) personnel can make reservations for their stay.
