What Kind of Base is Davis Monthan Air Force Base?
Besides hosting the 355th Wing, the base is the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (AMARG) site, often called the aircraft boneyard. A crucial component of the Air Combat Command (ACC), DM AFB trains A-10 Thunderbolt II pilots. Other units include the 55th Electronic Combat Group and the 943rd Rescue Group.
