Great news, Sesame Street for Military Families and the Muppet family such as Elmo, Bird Bird and Grover have released a free app for the iPhone (ios) and Android.  The app is available in both English and Spanish.

Some of the videos and articles include Elmo explaining what he does when his dad is back from active-duty, military parents talking about their experiences during deployments, and Rosita explaining why her dad is in a wheelchair.

It is highly recommended that a parent or guardian preview the materials before co-viewing with the children.

Since 2005, the Sesame Workshop, a nonprofit organization, has partnered with the Department of Defense and Military One Source. The partnership seeks to help parents and children overcome communication obstacles designed for parents to share with their young children. Topics include homecomings, injuries, grief, self-expression and deployments.
