2012 Military Retiree & Annuitant Pay Schedule

Here is the military retiree and annuitant pay schedule for 2012 provided by the DFAS (Defense Finance and Accounting Service.  The paydays are always on the 1^st day of the month except when the first day is a holiday or weekend.  In those cases the pay date will be the first business day prior to the holiday or weekend that fell on the 1^st.

Don’t forget to sign up for electronic payment!  The Department of Treasury has announced that beginning on March 1, 2013 all payments must be made electronically and no by paper.  Most military retirees and annuitants already receive their payments via direct deposit but if you’re one of the few you’ll want to make this change in order to continue receiving your payments.  It can take up to 30 to 60 days to complete this process.
