The fiscal 2013 National Defense Authorization Act has been signed into law by President Obama which includes authorization for the 1.7 military pay raise.
On Dec. 27th, 2012 the President signed Executive Order 13635 “Adjustments of Certain Rates of Pay” which effectively approved the proposed 2013 military pay raise of 1.7% to be effective Jan. 1st, 2013.

Rate Changes
The following rate assumptions were incorporated into the FY 2012 revised and the FY 2013 budget development
Pay Raise
- The FY 2012 request includes a 1.6% military pay raise, effective 1 January 2012 (1.55% over the fiscal year).
- The FY 2013 request includes a 1.7% military pay raise, effective 1 January 2013 (1.68% over the fiscal year).
