Graduated from a high school in its first year of consolidation from being many schools, Wyoming Area HS and West Side Area VoTech School in 1967. Told by my High School counselors I would never amount to anything and I should consider getting a "SKILL". Joined the USAF in 1967. Served in Vietnam in from 16 May 69 to 16 May 70 at Tan Son Nhut AB in Saigon Area. When I retired for the USAF in 1988 I had completed 2 Associate Degrees, a Bachelor's Degree and a Masters Degree while serving my country. So much for the predictions of my high school counselors.(Education completed in the service using Testing, evening classes and weekend seminars: Associate of Applied Science,Personnel Administration, Community College of the Air Force; Associate of Arts, Liberal Arts, Allan Hancock College, Santa Maria, CA; Bachelor of Science, Industrial Technology, Southern Illinois University; Master of Arts, Management, Webster University, St. Louis, Mo..) The Military was the biggest and best "FAMILY" we have ever be a part of. We all loved it.

Join the military, serve your country, help others in any and every way possible, don't let anything or anyone get in your way of completing your dreams. Get your education while serving your country or after completion of your service. Don't loose focus of the fact that you are part of a big family and a great team. Defend your country, your friends, your family, the constitution and our way of life from all enemies, foreign and domestic. (Lately, you have to worry about the domestic enemies also.) Enjoy your life, never loose faith in your comrades or your family, and may god bless you in your endeavors.
